Electric is the new latest keywords that have been trending all over the world. So is Indian manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra Group, which is first country-based auto manufacturer to start the assembly of electric wheels that has teamed up with Zoom car, which operates a car rental company. The pact was declared on the grounds to promote sustainable mobility ecosystem for now in the Mysore city. Thus under this pact, Mahindra will contribute to its Mahindra e20 Plus vehicles and rapid charging systems and will be integrated into Zoomcar platform.
The hiring of the cars will be available for the individuals in the city, while the vehicles are funded as per the deal depending on the larger financing arrangement amid Mahindra Finance and Zoomcar.
In terms of electric vehicles financing for Mahindra Electric and Zoomcar, Mahindra Finance will continue to be favored financier. The scheme will target top encourage shared, connected, and electric mobility as a model, with respect to the recommendations made in the NITI Aayog report with the government’s vision of 2030.
Mysore city is been developed in an integrated with respect to electric vehicle ecosystem. Mahindra stated that this is the first of the EV policy rolled out by any state in India.
Mahindra Electric, CEO, Mahesh Babu said, “The company is in plans to be the vanguard to bring the electric mobility in a practical and realistic way, with the assistance of mobility solution and advanced technology development. We are glad to shake hands with Zoomcar to encourage EV adoption in the country. The initiative also supports the Mysore city’s vision of being a clean and green city.”
Co-Founder and CEO, Zoomcar, Greg Moran said, “Zoomcar in 2013 introduced its first EVs for commercial purpose in Karnataka and this announcement is the proof of drastic expansion of electric vehicle vision. Zoomcar is happy to work along with Mahindra Electric team again with an aim to speed up the mobility-based evolution of normal fossil powered cars to fully-electric urban mobility.”
Both the firms also intend to imitate this noble model in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, and Delhi soon.
